November 12, 2014 -- We had a Meeting Yesterday

At around 3 p.m. yesterday (November 11, 2014), we had a mandatory "Crime Reduction" meeting with a member of FBPD. One has to wonder why it's necessary to encourage the residents to call the cops to report non-violent crimes.  Especially when the general consensus is that FBPD doesn't care.  Several of us had legitimate concerns combined with frustration.  Illegal substances (use and trafficking) was also an issue brought up.  I myself also informed the officer that their Tip411 line was something I'd used in the past but was told not to use.  He said he'd check on that.

Personally, I have more confidence that the complex will take care of things like loud stereos thundering through the lot.  Crime fighting has been reduced to a "DIY" project here at the complex, or so it feels like given the general mood regarding the local "law enforcement".

I'm just skeptical about the officer's "I'll check on that" promises.  Heard it too much before and had nothing come of it.  My skepticism should be understandable, given the sheer volume of gripes posted on this blog about FBPD.

I'm not really "in a mood" regarding the meeting.  I'm just not believing that there will be any actions taken with regards to our concerns.

Oh, but I do recall the officer bad-mouthing the Dallas PD.
