You heard it here, everyone. The Farmers Branch Police Department engages in discrimination!
Let me explain what transpired.
Due to the lack of anything being done about the fingerprints on my bedroom window (indications of someone trying to gain entry by pushing the window up, which you can read about here: http://fbtxghetto.blogspot.com/2013/09/september-24-2013-disturbing-discovery.html and here: http://fbtxghetto.blogspot.com/2013/09/september-27-2013-more-fingerprints.html), I've since felt unsafe enough that I feel a need to walk around armed.
My choice is a baseball bat.
Yes, I glared at one of the monstrous tormentors as she peered through the window. Yes I shook the bat a little.
And yes, the cops came by to give me a "warning".
So let's see, it's okay for the beasts to harass and torture another resident since July 2, 2013. It's okay, because the "Mommy" over there squeezed out five kids. But you, Ms. Bills, have no kids. Therefore we don't listen to YOUR COMPLAINTS, but we'll take any call from anyone else here.
It's also okay for the little unruly terrors to inflict emotional and mental damage by causing me constant stress, it's okay for the eldest daughter to send her boyfriend over here to break into my apartment, it's okay for all of that to happen. But I'm not allowed to let the little brat know I've had ENOUGH CRAP?!?
How else am I to get it through the slow-witted fiend? Telling "Mommy" doesn't get squat done. Telling the cops is pointless.
So it's okay to drive someone crazy, to the point where that person will snap and kill someone.
Way to freaking go, FAILURE SQUAD!
No, this has to be discrimination. It's clear from the contents of this blog that they're playing favorites, picking and choosing whose complaints will be punished, and which ones will be left to slide.
Let's see what the City Manager thinks though.
Edit: Well, after getting back home on October 7, 2013, it was plain that the City Manager had no comment. No email was sent back. Nothing came from the Chief of Police either.
I don't like it that the FBPD takes the side of a single mother with children and punishes a childless woman with cats (I have no children because I abstain. There's no man in my life and there never will be). I don't like it they endangered the lives of my "fur children". It's also deplorable how the cops think it's okay to step on the rights of the mentally disabled (The Feds protect the mentally disabled, and a mental illness is a disability. If it impacts one's ability to function, it's considered a disability). They caused me more unnecessary stress, which no doubt impacted my physical, mental, and definitely my emotional well-being. All of this crap that's been happening causes a rise in both blood sugar and blood pressure; the cops that ignore the problem, that blame it on my "mental illness" and push more pills, only make it worse.
Mr. Pills, the officer that was pushing me to go back to the hospital multiple times on October 8, 2013 (after I'd just gotten back from the hospital), won't respond to the threat to MY WELL-BEING that's ongoing. That's called taking sides. That's called discrimination.
The FBPD also denied me the right to blog, a violation of my First Amendment rights. How? Mr. Pills said he'd read my blog and found some contents distubring, something "normal people just don't think". So if he doesn't like the contents he's read, it makes sense for the cops to send me off to the hospital. And there's no computer access, no cell phone access, nothing but a landline and a 10 minute limit.
Look up Ruby Ridge, Mr. Pills, and get a clue please. I think the flap about Ruby Ridge involved the Feds blasting them with noise to deprive them of sleep and torture them, in essence. I'm getting similar treatment, but it's not the Feds doing it. It's just neighbors. But the cops should have stepped in weeks ago. And they've only "stepped in" to haul me away in the night.
Guess what else the cops did to me on September 31, 2013 in the wee A.M.? I answered the door barefoot. They had to be asked to give me shoes to wear. That's right. They were about to deprive me of a basic dignity like shoes and socks (had me wear flimsy house slippers instead). And I'm a diabetic being hauled through a dark parking lot without my glasses (easy to step on rusty nails, bottlecaps, and other garbage that could puncture flimsy house slippers), being laughed at, humiliated, and it should be understandable that I was enraged by the piss-poor treatment I had to endure.
That's unprofessional and a downright violation of basic human rights.
This blog used to be about London Square Apartments, and the ghetto-ification of Farmers Branch, TX. While I still post about how this "city" in the Dallas Metroplex area is becoming a ghetto, it's more focused on reporting various incidents and the Farmers Branch Police Department--with their poor handling of the whole situation. The FBPD, as I've abbreviated them, has engaged in discrimination, the violation of basic human rights guaranteed by the Constitution, and intimidation.

September 29, 2013 -- Two More Incidents
At around 3:50 p.m., a grey extended quad cab truck came speeding through the parking lot. Yes, we have those speed bumps, but if there's no one parked near the speed bump, a speeder can just maneuver around the bump and just keep on going with no regard for pedestrians.
Then around 4:07 p.m., there was a chihuahua that was allowed to wander around without a harness or leash. This one particular dog can and will menace your ankles if she doesn't like you.

September 29, 2013 -- Keep an Eye on that Backpacker!
It was around 2 p.m., and I saw a FBPD squad car headed down Valley View Ln., while I was walking to the Wal-mart on the corner. Let's just say the officer was most interested in staring at someone carrying a backpack--me. Oh yes. Please do, Mr. Officer, SIR! I'm armed with a blog and a laptop, and I'm not afraid to use them!!!!!!!!!
How about not driving around aimlessly and instead, try taking the fingerprint evidence from my windows? Oh! That's right! You losers let the rain wash them away yesterday!
I'd find better police work out of a Cracker Jack box!
Edit: Mr. Pills indirectly admitted he'd read this post when he was talking at me (not TO but AT, since he only gave a blaze about pushing pills) on October 8, 2013. He said "You said the fingerprints were washed away". Not once in the one-sided "conversation" did I state that to him directly.

September 29, 2013 -- Cart Yet Again
At about 1:50 p.m., I noticed yet another Wal-mart cart at London Square Apartments, near the Coke machine.
With as many of these carts as I've reported on the blog, you'd swear Wal-mart has a cart corral at London Square Apartments.

September 28, 2013 -- As I Suspected, FBPD Fail
Yes, just as I thought. FBPD decided to just let the evidence wash away on my windows. What evidence is that? Why, the fingerprints that set me off yesterday, that's what (http://fbtxghetto.blogspot.com/2013/09/september-27-2013-more-fingerprints.html). Oh well, the incriminating pictures of their UNIVERSAL LEVEL FAILURE can still be found on Google Maps and this blog. They aren't good for catching the perp, but to think a "professional police department" would FAIL to collect evidence when they've been alerted to it... This is HORRIBLE POLICE WORK!
But thanks to their consistent FAILURE to do standard police work, I'm going to see about making a quiz and sending it to the other area police departments. I want to know what, for instance, the Dallas PD would do about 1) repeated complaints about the same noisy apartment tenants and 2) what would they do about the fingerprints found on the OUTSIDE of a window?
I really, really would like to know if it's standard procedure in the "Great State of Texas" (I was born in Texas, FYI.) to let people behave as if they live in a foreign country when they rent an apartment. "Do whatever you want," is the type of action I see from FBPD, and I would like to know if that's normal.
Sheesh, is there an agency responsible for investigating failure police departments like the one in Farmer's Branch?
Seriously. They act like they expect to just drive around and magically catch the bad guy with no effort on their part. It's like it's not a crime unless it's happening to them, you know? I wonder just how they'd like the same treatment handed to them in Hell?

September 28, 2013 -- Gunner Family has a Yo Bro Pack
At around 2:00 p.m., I went outside to just sit and enjoy the outdoors. It was feeling hot and muggy, so I wanted to see if it would rain. Sure enough, it did.
While I was sitting there, I saw a young man sitting outside an apartment that I know belongs to the Gunner Family (http://fbtxghetto.blogspot.com/2013/09/september-20-2013-gunner-family.html). I don't recall seeing him before. As I sat there, the young men "multiplied". Three more poured out of the apartment and the four of them hung out for a bit until I went back inside. I was determined to find out the apartment number and report it to the apartment manager.
Granted, she's not here on Saturdays, but I can still write a note and slip it under the door. She needs to know that there might be illegal tenants in that one bedroom apartment.
Now, back to the young men. They had that macho attitude as they hung out, you know, the "I'm not scared of you. I'm with my homies and we'll bust a piece in your teeth" kind of attitude.
If you're trying to impress me, forget it. I go for a "normal attitude," not the "village idiot tough" or "ghetto" attitude. And if you think you're scaring me, I'll beat the livid crap out of you with every blunt, heavy object I own. And I've got some pretty heavy stone balls to swing around. And after that, I'll chop you up into fish bits, fry them up, and serve you to my cats. You boys have no clue who you're messing with. It's the quiet ones that can be the most lethal, they say.

September 28, 2013 -- Some Positive Results, Some not so Much
Well, last night I was forced to call the police again on the Banging Brood (the 8 p.m. event). The officers actually did show up on the first call, and we had an incredibly long talk.
Though it seems like an absurd policy, it was explained that they have two methods for issuing citations: 1) they observe the noises themselves or 2) the person or persons having to put up with the rowdies can be listed as complainants.
You know, if that had been explained to me way back around July 2nd, I would have been more than happy to write my name all over that citation. So there would be a lot of courtroom rigamarole. Eh. That "Mommy" next door needs to tighten her belt and be the parent, not the live-in doormat that caves in to every little sniffle from her brats.
It's a bit disconcerting that I tell the cops about the fingerprint smudges, when I first noticed them, and the increase in number yesterday morning. But they haven't bothered to collect any of that evidence. And there's no one else that has an excuse to try slipping in through my bedroom window. What, do I have to be raped or murdered before FBPD collects the freaking evidence that's STILL THERE RIGHT NOW?!?
It would be a reasonable, common-sense thing for the officers to collect those prints before they're obliterated by either nature or the thug trying to break in. And since there are prickly hedges under the window, there are bound to be partial footprints that shouldn't be there. The hedges get trimmed with clippers at a distance. Not even the kids play in those hedges.
They did promise to increase patrols last night. Hnn... One night isn't going to stop that punk trying to break in. Whomever it is tries every few nights, it seems. The first fingerprint incident happened September 24, and then again September 27. Short of patrolling in unmarked cars for about a week, I don't see much good happening here.
Looking back at my G+ posts to my former roommate, I noticed this event that occurred on September 25, 2013. I'd stepped out onto the walkway and I saw the Banging Brood pour out of the apartment. It was an endless stream of children, I swear. By the time all the kids caught up with the adult(s) (I know there was a mustached male there leading them, but I'm not sure if "Mommy" was present). Anyway, the increased fingerprints could have happened when I was out doing errands, or it could have happened at night when I was at home. All I know for certain is opening them around 10:00 a.m. on September 27, 2013 and seeing more marks.
I told the officers about the increased number of males hanging around the Banging Brood's apartment and the incident with one of them. He said, "Hey, let's all go inside and play on your PlayStation". Now that would make no sense to say to the eldest sister. Why? Because if they had any kind of game console, the kids wouldn't be bouncing a freaking ball against the wall at all hours.
The officers promised to check it out and to also remind "Mommy" that the kiddos need to knock it off with the ball. I told the officers that I'd be fine if the kids would just take the ball outside and play. Stop doing noisy stuff in the apartment; "play time" is hardly accidental noise, you know.
The officers got quite the picture about my living conditions over the past months. One officer was optimistic about the kids going to bed, and I let him know that doesn't stop them from thumping that blasted ball at 2:30 in the morning (that seemed to surprise the blazes out of the officer). They've been known to do it all times of the day and night. Another officer asked, "Have you tried banging back?" and I told him that it would just encourage the kids to keep it up. I know this, because of the first confrontation I had with that bunch next door (http://fbtxghetto.blogspot.com/2013/08/august-22-2013-first-confrontation-with.html).
That first confrontation was over a coughing fit that was simply uncontrollable. Sometimes it feels like I'm trying to hack up a lung. My medication does this to me, and I have to have the medication.

September 27, 2013 -- Ready for a Seige
The Banging Brood is wanting to start their crap again, and it's about 8:00 p.m. here. The Farmers Branch PD Chief of Police and the City Manager know know some of the problems I've been having. But the Chief of Police wants me to "dialog" and "work together", when they've done absolute squat since July 2nd.
So I'm sitting here, armed, and ready to shoot the perp responsible for trying to jimmy open my bedroom window. And the rest of the world knows of the problem. How long before the public gets an earful about this one and how the cops refused to do anything for so long?

September 27, 2013 -- Banging Brood Continues Harrassment
At 1:02 p.m., the little monsters next door decided to drum (ratta-tatta-tatta-tat type of thumping sounds) on my bedroom wall. I don't think it was done with a tennis ball. But they're thumping around off and on right now as I type this. Kids should be in school today, but that neglectful mother over there lets her little savages do whatever they darn well please.
I've taken the liberty to hand-write a letter and leave it under the apartment manager's door. She's probably at lunch right now, and for some reason, the answering machine won't take my message. But I know they'll be written up and that they're soon to be kicked out.
Here's hoping all the problems that family next door has caused will make it very difficult for them to find another place to rent. I wouldn't want them if I were renting out property. And I wouldn't want them based on the trouble they've caused. Goodness knows finding a place that'll accept a family with 5 kids in it is going to be tough anyway.
And if any of you think this is normal apartment sounds, you try living in this apartment with them next door making their noises for two freaking cotton-picking months!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And now I'm dealing with someone, most likely some male, trying to break into my apartment to harm me. Knowing how many "gentleman callers" I've seen next door, I wouldn't be surprised if it were one of them. They have the most motive here.

September 27, 2013 -- More Fingerprints
I opened the blinds around 10 a.m. this morning, only to discover these and more fingerprint smudges on the outside of my bedroom window. Someone's been trying to push the window open to break in.
I have tried contacting management, and she wanted to send the maintenance to come check it out. Thing is, why is this clear illegal evidence under the apartment management's jurisdiction? I don't see a crime lab in that office. I don't see fingerprint kits and supercomputers capable of matching prints.
That should fall under the Farmers Branch Police Department's jurisdiction. But you know they won't do anything. They haven't done beans except drive around and waste gas.
Let's face it. I'm going to be forced to defend myself with violence. I told you Farmers Branch, TX was turning ghetto.
I'll admit I have my suspicions about the origin of the fingerprints, who could have sent someone they know to try and break in. But fact is, I can see some whorl patterns (with just my paltry vision) from the marks, so suspicions are unnecessary. It's irrelevant if my suspicions are true or false; all that matters is the culprit or culprits are finally stopped.
But we all know how that's going to turn out in the latest Ghettotown.
September 27, 2013 -- Leash Law Violation Again
This time, at 10:00 a.m., it was an entire family with what looked like a teacup breed of dog. What I feared was that the dog might run out into the parking lot and the toddler follow it. Some of the people that live here exceed the posted speed limit quite regularly. And the cops won't catch it; they never catch anything. They can't even catch a cold, that's how sorry the FBPD is in terms of police work.

September 26, 2013 -- Loitering
I saw a teen loitering with an older male on the steps to a building near the mailboxes. This was at 9:02 p.m.
For the record, most people that want to sit outside and chat usually set up chairs outside their own apartments. They don't block access to the second level of the buildings.

September 26, 2013 -- And Taxpayers are still Paying
At 8:56 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., I saw two squad cars headed toward the FBPD station. One was headed down Alpha Rd., and the other down Valley View Ln.
Let's see... Taxpayers have to fund those fancy traffic cameras, probably pay for those little "you are speeding" electronic signs that they set up on occasion, and now the Dallas area has a new program. This program is designed for people with smartphones to snap a picture of code violations and send it in to the police.
All of this is taxpayer-funded.
So why in the heck do we have to pay for old-fashioned "driving a squad car" when I've already established the fact that FBPD doesn't write tickets, and no doubt doesn't do anything about more serious crimes either?
Now I'll admit that London Square Apartments has improved since I started blogging about the problems. But that's been through management's efforts, not the uniformed beauty pageant, aka Farmers Branch Police.

September 25, 2013 -- Making out in Public
At around 5 p.m., I saw a young couple sitting on the stairs on the far end of my building. Though there isn't anything illegal about showing romantic affections, it should be in a private place, given the intensity present. It wouldn't have taken much for those two to become more touchy feel-y, and we're talking about this happening when kids are still going in and out of the other apartments.
This same couple had moved to the stairs closer to my apartment at 5:30 p.m. and had been joined by another young lady.

September 24, 2013 -- Upstairs Stomper and Loud Music
At 9:51 p.m., I became aware of the upstairs neighbor playing loud music again. Wanting to be certain of the source, I went to the back of the building. I could just make out the music coming out of their window. So it wasn't in any other apartment, or from a vehicle parked behind the building. I can still hear faint strains as I type this.
September 24, 2013 -- Disturbing Discovery
At 9:30 a.m., I noticed fingerprints on my bedroom window. I don't remember for sure if they were there prior to today, but I noticed them now.
They wouldn't be my fingerprints, because I don't need to crawl through a prickly hedge to touch the lower portion of my window from the outside. Could they be from the two males I saw loitering with the Banging Brood's eldest sister?
The reason I wonder that is one of the males made an off-handed comment about "sitting down to play on the PlayStation" when I was coming back to my apartment. (Please see this post: http://fbtxghetto.blogspot.com/2013/09/september-20-2013-banging-brood.html) Now I don't know small details inside the Banging Brood's apartment, but logically speaking, if they had a PlayStation, then those kids would have something to play with other than a freaking tennis ball.
You can imagine that I'm not terribly pleased with my discovery. Some of the smudging looks like someone tried opening the window. All I can say is that a stranger's fingerprints on my bedroom window is a definite sign of Farmers Branch, TX becoming ghetto.
I would call the cops, but they'd tell me to tell the manager. Or to get along with others. Or "peace little sister, smoke a joint and chill". Bah. So it's a complete waste of time to talk to them.
I'll tell you this much, had they been successful in slipping the window open, they would have broken their fool necks tripping over furniture under the window.

September 24, 2013 -- Banging Brood Wakeup Call
At around 2:20 a.m., those little monsters next door thumped their ball against the wall for about a minute. That's not long, considering they used to do it all day and all night. But it was enough to rouse me from a good sleep.
Now, the "Mommy" has lied, trying to put the blame on the neighbors above me. But there was no stomping last night when this event occurred. It was not due to a fan, it wasn't the upstairs neighbors that are catty-corner to my apartment, and it wasn't the set of neighbors on the other side of me.
Process of elimination. Other suspects for the noises have been ruled out, leaving the Banging Brood as the sole culprits for the disturbance. And "Mommy's" little pit fiends have been known to be up at that time, doing their beating and banging. "Mommy" even admitted once that she doesn't like the idea of telling her kids not to play.
Well I've got news for Madame Neglectful Parent: I'm not a toy. The apartments aren't toys. And after 10 p.m., it's time for rugrats to be in bed, and most definitely not bouncing a blasted tennis ball around. She needs to learn that she's the freaking parent and they are the kids, and they have to do what she says, not the other way around. You'd think that with five kids she'd already know the drill, but she must be a slow learner too.

September 24, 2013 -- Cart Sighted
I noticed another Wal-mart shopping cart parked near one of the other buildings that make up the quad. It was noticed at 9:59 a.m.

September 23, 2013 -- Carted Off
No, this isn't in reference to the FBPD actually taking someone away.
At 8:10 p.m., I saw a Wal-mart shopping cart sitting near the London Square mailboxes.

September 22, 2013 -- Rolling Racket on the Rise
I can't give specific times for this, but I can tell you I've noticed an increase in vehicles rolling through London Square's parking lot with the music turned up too loud. If it's loud enough to be heard outside of the vehicle while it's in motion, then it's too loud.
The "rolling racket" began September 21, 2013, with a Kia driving in and out with the radio too loud. Two instances. Then today, there were at least five, maybe six, instances of "rolling racket". That's quite an increase. It makes you wonder just how noisy it'll be tomorrow.
I have no idea why the drivers think being a "rolling boombox" is "cool" or it "attracts women".
I want an auto-targeting cannon that fires an endless supply of corrosive acid at these offenders' vehicles. Maybe if the "ride" got chewed away, I wouldn't have to listen to their noise boom, boom, booming past my apartment.

September 22, 2013 -- Another Cart
There's yet another cart from Wal-mart sitting outside on London Square's grounds. It was right behind my building, and I could see it "parked" near the Banging Brood's apartment.
The funny thing is that I could see it from my window. I just happened to be looking for this young man having a good old time on his bicycle. The fellow took off when he saw me, but I wanted to be certain and I noticed the shopping cart.
So there goes yet another $500 cart theft fine that will go uncollected. Do you think the Super Wal-mart that's supposed to be constructed nearby will like having its carts brought over here?
Now I'll admit that if you don't have a vehicle, you still have to get the groceries home somehow. That's why I have a backpack, big freezer bags, and a personal shopping cart. It gets the job done without having to take a shopping cart from Wal-mart or anyone else.

September 20, 2013 -- Gunner Family
I was having my night tea outside and I was simply watching clouds and such while enjoying it. At around 7:30 p.m., I observed a family at the apartment building across the quad from mine enjoying each other's company. I didn't think much of it, until I saw which apartment was theirs. It was the upstairs apartment on the corner, the one that used to bear a human silhouette (for handgun practice) in one of its windows.
I've stated it before: I know kids could in theory gain access to guns at this complex. And seeing that wee little boy reminded me just how easily it could be done. Though he'd have a hard time handling a handgun, an older kid could cajole the little one into bringing Daddy's gun.
So I think I'll give this family the nickname of "Gunner Family".

September 20, 2013 -- Banging Brood Loitering
At 7:15 p.m., I witnessed a couple of young men loitering outside the next door neighbors (Banging Brood's) door with the eldest daughter. They were outside like that long enough to go check the mail and come back to my apartment.
So the eldest daughter had a couple of "gentleman callers" tonight. Infer what you will. I'm hoping it doesn't result in trouble.
Perhaps turning on the laptop and letting it record might be a good idea tonight. We'll see though. I don't need to stress about it; for all I know the two males departed and are no longer "hanging out" with the eldest daughter.

September 20, 2013 -- Upstairs Stomper Making Noise
Well everyone, the Upstairs Stomper (neighbor right above me that has lead for two feet) has been stomping back and forth at least since 1 p.m. today. I was in the kitchen making some crab rangoons (complete with homemade wonton wrappers) and heard this person stomping back and forth--even out on the breezeway.
Then about 2:30 p.m., the Upstairs Stomper decided to turn on some "music". Now in the past, I could investigate by going outside to the back of the building and hear it from the sidewalk beneath my apartment. Today, that wasn't the case.
Wandering to the living area of my apartment, I could sort of isolate where the "music" was emanating--above my head, near the front window. To verify, I went outside and moved about as silently as a heavy-set person can move.
The "music" wasn't coming from the neighbors with the Banging Brood. So I went upstairs fairly quietly. It was amazing that I could walk at a fairly normal pace without making "boom, boom, boom" noises with my feet. And like I said, I'm heavier than the Upstairs Stomper.
When I reached the apartment right above mine, I could definitely hear the "music" outside the window.
You know what? They make headphones for that. And if you can't bear being tied to a wire, then there's wireless options. I know, because I've been exploring these options so I can watch movies without bothering my neighbors with it.
Anyway, it's been reported, so we'll see what happens.

September 19, 2013 -- Second Confrontation with Banging Brood's Mother
Hmm... It's 11:13 p.m., and "Mommy" of the Banging Brood should be at work. Should be, but isn't. And instead of keeping her unruly brood from thumping that ball, she's letting them do whatever they want. Or they'll whine about it.
"Mommy" tried to say it wasn't them, but that's bull. I can hear them against the shared wall. Confiscate that stupid ball and leave it at that.
I think I let them know that I was pissed.

September 19, 2013 -- Banging Brood Violate Curfew
At 10:53 p.m., the Banging Brood decided to bounce their tennis ball against the wall. This is after curfew, which begins at 10 p.m. It's currently 11:02 p.m., and the little demons are still doing it. I may have to go tap on their window with the baseball bat tonight.
The apartment manager will definitely hear about this violation.

September 18, 2013 -- More FBPD Money Wasting
At 12:43 p.m., I saw a squad car headed down Alpha Rd., headed toward Marsh Ln. You know, I don't think I saw anyone in the back of that thing, so the whole "I'm doing something useful" just doesn't fly.
And at 12:58 p.m., I saw the police "crow's nest" set up in the back parking lot for DoubleTree. It's been there all day, hoisted up in the air. And I didn't see anyone in it.

September 18, 2013 -- Leash Law Violated Again
At 6:53 p.m., I observed a chihuahua that was wandering around without a leash. I do believe it's possible to find a harness small enough for a chihuahua. At least it seemed well-behaved.
September 18, 2013 -- Banging Brood Bounces
Yeah, at 7:10 p.m., the Banging Brood next door decided to bounce that tennis ball against the wall. Again. A couple of times it was pretty hard too; shook the wall. The bouncing didn't end until 7:15 p.m.
Tell me, what's so freaking hard about taking the little ball bouncers outside to play? Wear their little butts out by taking them around the local college track. A circuit (or two) of their 2 mile track will wear out children.

September 16, 2013 -- More Patroling
Today, around 2:30 p.m., I saw a squad car driving down Alpha Rd. toward the police station. Later this evening, around 9 p.m., there was a squad car that pulled out of the London Square parking lot.
I really don't see the point why these ineffective police fashion models are allowed to waste taxpayer money to drive around and do nothing. If they aren't willing to write tickets for repeated calls about excessive noise, then they won't write traffic tickets or anything else.
We'd probably be better off automating the squad cars. Have robots record what goes on around them and have maybe a handful of trained computer geeks mail out the tickets. And if there's a suspicion of harassment, say, through noise, then the local police department can loan out a recording device to the victim. Much like how Animal Control in Paris, TX would loan out live traps to catch stray dogs and the like.
Put the police force "on call," like nurses. If there isn't anything violent going on, then they don't work and they don't get paid. Only the computer geeks and maintenance workers would be working full-time.

September 16, 2013 -- Banging Brood Engage in Sonic Tresspass Again
After two days of relative quiet from the little monsters next door, they decided to drum on the shared wall today. This occurred at 12:15 p.m. and lasted for about a minute. This "drumming" was not a hammer and nail kind of sound. It could have been made with a rubber ball on a tether, but knuckles rapping on the wall would be more likely. It was a very rapid sound, like drumming. It wasn't extremely loud, but it was just hard enough for me to pick up the vibrations from the wall to know where the sound was coming from.
Still, regardless of how loud or hard it was, the fact remains that they're not supposed to do stuff like this. A random bump or bang is to be expected, but no bouncing of tennis balls, no drumming on the walls, no deliberate noise-making with the intent to annoy me.
What was I doing before this happened? I was sitting quietly, trying to locate a particular recipe. I need to write down the ingredients that I need to purchase in order to make it.

September 14, 2013 -- Confirmation that "Big Brother" is Dead
I was at my normal bus stop at 7:30 p.m., and I got to speak with a young man regarding the police. I listed the "little laws" that the cops refuse to write tickets on these days, and he said, "Naw, they don't care about those little things. They're out there catching the robbers and murderers. They only care about theft and murder. Even drugs won't get you busted, if you're smart about it."
Okay, so do I take this to mean rape would constitute a "little crime" that the cops don't pursue?
And next, if the cops aren't really enforcing anti-drug laws that the Federal government penned, then the dreaded "Big Brother" is quite dead folks. What's the Congress, President, or the Supreme Court going to do if someone sees you staggering down the street with a joint dangling from your lips? Are they just going to sit there and scowl disapprovingly? They're sure not going to risk their necks trying to arrest someone doped up on PCP.
As for the "catching robbers and murderers," a gentleman I spoke with yesterday would disagree. He used to manage a convenience store. One time, he called the police because one of the customers was making verbal threats. Almost half an hour later, after the event had calmed down, the cops showed up terrified and with guns drawn.
Thing is, the cops need to be put on unemployment. They don't do the tasks that they were supposedly trained to do, therefore they shouldn't be paid.
So remember the next time you have a "paranoid moment" over the camera at the street corner, or the security cameras in a retail store: no one's watching but an average schmoe security guard. The cops probably won't even get involved that much, if at all. And if the local cops aren't involved, then why worry about "Big Brother" carting you off to a detention center in Cuba or something?
Congrats, Farmers Branch, TX, you're well on your way to being a ghetto. So is America as a whole, at this rate.

September 14, 2013 -- Cruising Alpha Ln.
At around 2:15 and 2:25, I saw squad cars travelling down Alpha Ln. Both times, they were headed toward Marsh Ln., which is the general direction of the police station.
How do cops manage to drive when they "don't see anything"? Isn't it a requirement for driving that your eyes function reasonably well? They sure don't see with sonar, or loud music like what happened last weekend (upstairs) would have been easy to detect. It takes very sensitive hearing for echolocation.

September 14, 2013 -- Poor Wal-mart
At 2 p.m., I noticed yet another cart had joined the one that had been left on the corner of Alpha Link and Valley View Ln. Maybe Wal-mart should purchase that section of city right-of-way and put up a cart stall.
September 14, 2013 -- Banging Noises in Stereo
It was 2:53 a.m. when the noises started in the Banging Brood's apartment. They were soft but repetitive thumps, like a ball being bounced. About the same time, the Upstairs Stomper was stomping and bumping around quite a bit.
These noises didn't end until about 3:15 a.m., when I got up to answer the "call of nature".
Now don't get me wrong, I heard the noises, but they didn't wake me. I was having an insomnia spell when it happened. I felt tired, but not annoyed. And it was a true insomnia attack, because I knew I needed to sleep, but just couldn't drift off for some reason.
It started up again briefly at 10:20 a.m., when I woke up. The Banging Brood were definitely bouncing their tennis ball this time.
Now if the residents in these apartments are trying to discourage each other from banging and thumping, they need to have a face-off and quit catching me in the middle (My paranoia thinks it's something else, but this more sensible idea could be the explanation). My noises (and I know I make noises) are strictly daily life. They aren't meant to annoy, they just happen as a result of trying to do stuff. Some I can help, like how careful I am shutting a pantry door, and some are going to be unavoidable (like dropping something accidentally, doing dishes, or cooking).
I know all of this started several hours after I went to bed, after I'd finished a movie around midnight. But my movie didn't disturb them. Do you know why? I used headphones so I was the only one able to hear anything.

Government Authority on the Decline
Now why do I say such a thing? Let's recall the problems I've had with the Farmers Branch Police Department (FBPD) doing anything. They don't enforce the little laws, so what faith should anyone have that they'll catch and punish someone for violent crimes?
The FBPD is little more than empty uniforms. The same goes for the squad car or the police "crow's nest" that you see at the corner Wal-mart. Empty husks with no enforcement. And if there's no one to enforce the laws, then it's up to you and I to do it ourselves.
Our so-called police force is the weakest link. We shouldn't be paying them to fill out a uniform or drive around "seeing nothing wrong" when it's in your face every day.
What monies are earmarked for police should be removed from property taxes. Then property owners/residents that can handle weapons responsibly should be encouraged to get guns and ammo. Defend yourselves, since the government is in decline.
Think about it. Laws are what give local, state, and Federal goverments their authority. But just writing laws isn't enough. It's necessary to have someone to enforce the laws. They have to write the tickets and make arrests. If they fail at these tasks repeatedly, then their jobs should be cut.
The police should be answerable to the people they're supposed to protect.
You know how people fear "Big Brother" watching their every move? Us average people can do likewise to so-called authority figures. We can hold them up to scrutiny and protest their actions or lack thereof.

September 13, 2013 -- Bad Luck Day for Wal-mart
At around 11 a.m., I was walking back to my apartment. On the way, I saw another Wal-mart shopping cart on the property. I bet it winds up in London Square's dumpster. I don't think anyone actually takes the time to walk them back to the Wal-mart lot.
Also, at around 2 p.m., there was a Wal-mart shopping cart abandoned at the corner of Alpha Link and Valley View Ln. There's another potential $1,000 in fines that the cops are missing out on. Tell me, if they're not willing to go out and about writing citations for little things like this (that are far from life-threatening, but are also not fame-inducing), then why do taxpayers bother paying them? And why do we donate money to them? They let easy money like this slip through their fingers.
How can they possibly watch these things? Well, for one, they normally have a squad car, and sometimes even a police "crow's nest" stationed at the corner Wal-mart. But no one's there. Like, ever.

September 12, 2013 -- Leash Law Violation at Courtyards Complex
At around 8:55 p.m., I saw a person walking three dogs around Courtyards at Valley View, here in Farmers Branch, TX. Two of the dogs did have leashes, but the third one was allowed to do whatever it pleased. I'd say the third dog would have stood at my knee.
Thankfully, that side of Valley View Ln. wasn't busy tonight and the dog was more interested in a scent than a pedestrian crossing the street. I've known this dog to follow someone across the street in the past, because I've seen the same owner walking the same set of dogs.
And where are the cops to witness this? Nowhere to be found. They must all be sitting at the police station, finding other ways to waste taxpayer funds on themselves without doing anything to enforce the laws.

September 11, 2013 -- Revelation about Banging Brood
At around 4:30 p.m. or 5 p.m., I saw one of the Banging Brood out on the quad, with the eldest sister keeping a watchful eye. The younger girl was tossing a tennis ball around.
So what can be the logically deduced from this fact?
1) That the mother has been lying when she's been blaming the thumping/banging noises on anything other than her kids. (Let's not forget when I pointed out how sound waves travel through a wall that she admitted her kids were doing it.)
2) That the real source of the thumps/bangs has been from the tennis ball being thrown against the wall by one or more members of the Banging Brood.
3) That the mother couldn't possibly be at home asleep during the day and working at night. (My father worked the night shift and slept during the day. He would have taken a belt to my backside for waking him up in such a brattish manner.)
4) That very same younger girl has been skipping school. She's the same one I saw coming back home in the morning on the second day of school, when she was supposed to be at school.
There's so many simple solutions to this problem. For one, the ball can be taken away and locked up until either "Mommy" or the eldest sister can watch them play outside. For another, the kids can be taught quiet activities to do while inside:
1) Hand sewing
2) Crocheting
3) Knitting
4) Drawing (on paper, not on walls)
5) Reading books
6) Playing with modeling clay/Playdoh
Thing is, "Mommy" is too gutless to discipline her kids and show them the quieter things they could be doing. It's not like they can't find out how to do most of this through YouTube or something. Granted, some of the younger children may need someone to show them personally, but it could be done. Well, it could be done with normal children that can settle down long enough to learn things.

September 11, 2013 -- Banging Brood Plays Hookey Again
Yes. The Banging Brood is skipping school again. I know this because the banging and thumping has been going on since 12:30 p.m., and it's almost 1:10 p.m. as of this blog posting.
Now you might think that they're home-schooled. Really? All the home-schooled I've ever heard of lived in houses, not apartments. They came from well-to-do families with a parent (or both parents) disciplining the children.
That's not what we have with the parental unit next door. She's a single mother with a brood of five unruly, undereducated children. She lives in an apartment and she struggles to support her mob of destructive brats.
I'll say this much, if she is working nights as she claimed, she's either deaf to their noises, or she's lying. Knowing that she's a shifty-eyed lying weasel that'll shift blame away from her kids, I wouldn't doubt if she's lying. I doubt she's at home alone with them throughout the day like she claimed.
If those kids were in school like they're supposed to be, I shouldn't hear any thumps, bumps or wall punches. It would be quiet. But that's not the case.
Also during this time period, the Upstairs Stomper (or maybe I should call him "Pedo Joe"), there has been some stomping upstairs. Why call him "Pedo Joe"? Because the neighbor overhead played loud music/TV/whatever during the weekend, and Sunday was when I saw the surly-faced man lead two teens upstairs in my building.

September 10, 2013 -- Banging Brood Truce is Definitely Over
At about 9:30 p.m., the Banging Brood have been thumping and banging intermittently for the past 30 minutes or so. If it keeps going, I may be tempted to rap on their bedroom window with the baseball bat again.
Now, I did inform the apartment manager of what transpired yesterday, so I know it's been written up. We're just dealing with children that are really, really, really slow at learning discipline. I mean, even a mentally disabled person eventually learns that hot stoves burn hands. But these kids next door don't seem to realize that their actions are causing their mother to suffer, nor do they care. Nor does their mother particularly care either, even though she tries to play the sympathy card, being a single mother of five she clearly can't take care of.
Hey, I understand it's tough for single parents. I was from a single-parent household myself, but I learned my flipping discipline. Maybe that mother next door has a few too many children to support. She certainly can't give them the attention they need if she's busting her rump to support them all by herself.

September 10, 2013 -- Ghetto Sex Heaven
Apparently Farmers Branch is becoming the de facto location to have sex in public. Not 50 yards from London Square Apartments, at about 1:15 p.m., I saw a spent condom lying there on the city right-of-way on Valley View Ln.
That's getting pretty sad, when the cops are so incompetent and ineffective, that they let people have sex at the side of the road. But that's what I've come to expect from the Farmers Branch Police Department (FBPD). I guess they can't afford to get those regulation snug uniforms dirty.
If you ask me, the whole police force for Farmers Branch needs to be fired. Why waste taxpayer money if you have to do the crime fighting yourself? Get a few guns, some ammo, and shoot to kill when someone gives you grief. That's what FBPD suggests with their unwillingness to even write flipping citations.

Suggestion Regarding American Law Enforcement
Given that Farmers Branch Police Department has been quite useless, I think it's high time to cut their donation stream.
Every year, various law enforcement agencies call citizens for donations.
I say, given that one police department is useless and undeserving of donations, then all of the law enforcement agencies should meet the same fate. If they call or write begging for money, don't give them anything of any value.
The police are supposed to serve and protect everyone. They are to enforce the laws for everyone. If you're not doing anything to stop a locale from turning ghetto, how safe are the more well-to-do people going to be when the ghetto is right across the street from them? Or right next door?
Or to put it another way, you want to stop a cancerous growth when it's small. You do not wait until the cancer has filled one lung and taken over half of the other.
Yet that's what FBPD does with London Square, they won't write citations for minor infractions (small cancerous growth). So they're willingly permitting the cancer to grow out of control until it takes over. They're wasting taxpayer monies and any donations they receive.
How many other police departments in America are "enforcement" by appearance only? It's time we were all smarter with our money. I think we can all bear to not donate anything to our local law enforcement agencies until things improve.
If any blog posting should go viral, it's this one.

September 9, 2013 -- Banging Brood has Ended Truce
I do believe after last night, it's official. "Mommy's" little truce is ended.
At around 11 p.m. last night, the Banging Brood woke me up with some thumping. I went to bed early because I have an appointment to go to today (September 10).
So, let's give you an idea of what Mommy's "truce" looked like last week when she offered it.
She knocked on my door after I got home. She then told me she had a "Bible study group" over, would you like to come over, and we pray for you? I'm not going to hang out with a shifty-eyed person that's allowed her spawn to torture me for two months. She tried telling me that the problems had nothing to do with the other family that had to move away due to being too big a family in too small an apartment, and that the noises I was hearing were coming from a fan.
Really? Why would a fan bang in the bedroom and then travel to bang in the dining area, and then finally wind up in the living room to thump and bang? Now I know that box fans can make some pretty awful noises when they're about to die. But they don't punch walls, get up, punch another wall, and so on.
The only kind of "angels" that woman birthed are of the "fallen" variety.
I'll be sure to inform the apartment manager later today. She's actually doing something about these problems now, and I'm grateful for that.

September 9, 2013 -- Banging Brood and Upstairs Stomper Join Forces
At around 7:10 a.m., the Banging Brood got started beating the wall before heading off to school. It was brief and it didn't bother me like they may have hoped.
However, at 4:30 p.m., the Banging Brood were punching the wall hard many times off and on for about an hour. The Upstairs Stomper--the party responsible for the loud music you can hear through a brick wall at the back of the building--decided to add some deliberate stomps on their floor.
It was getting quite annoying taking it from two sides, so I yelled that I was going to be blogging about this. And that people do read it.
As of 6:30 p.m. writing this, it's back to peaceful quiet. I'll let you know how long it lasts. With these ghetto sorts living all around me, I don't count on it lasting long. They're the sort that never learn: don't touch a hot stove, it will burn your hand.

September 8, 2013 -- Electronic Noise Upstairs
As of 9:10 p.m., the upstairs neighbor has begun playing music or TV loud enough for me to hear again. I can hear it even better when I go outside and around to the back of the building. I can hear the noise directly above my apartment, so I know it's no one else.
Now I don't know if this is somehow related, but earlier today, I saw a young man, maybe in his mid 20s to early 30s (and looking grouchy) leading a couple of girls upstairs. When I say "girls", we're talking high school at most, and definitely jailbait. Mr. Grumpy was talking about them watching a movie tonight. This trio was going upstairs to the building I live in.
I would try reporting this to the Farmers Branch Police Department (FBPD), but they've made it rather plain with their new policy: 1) First call -- cops never show to talk to me, 2) Second call -- cops show up to talk to me, take a few personal details, but do jack squat. I think if I do call them, it'll be to tell them I've blogged about their ineffectual "law enforcement" again.
Better yet, I think maybe I should contact the Chief of Police and let the Chief know.
9:26 p.m., and the sound from upstairs is getting louder. And I'm starting to suffer a headache as a result.

September 8, 2013 -- More Ghetto Action
At about 6:15 p.m., I noticed a male leading two boys from London Square Apartments to the neighboring complex (Courtyards at Valley View). What makes this "ghetto" is the boys had obviously been swimming... In London Square's swimming pools. Now, according to the rules, the pools are strictly for our residents only and no one else.
Also, when I reached the corner of Alpha Link and Valley View, I noticed another Wal-mart shopping cart had been "borrowed"... Ahem... I mean, stolen from the nearby Wal-mart. There's no telling if the perpetrator lives at London Square or at Courtyards. That cart wasn't there when I was heading for the bus at 12:45 p.m. today.

September 7, 2013 -- Farmers Branch Police Department (FBPD) Fail
From about 10:45 p.m. to 11:45 p.m., I called the FBPD twice. The first call, they didn't bother visiting with me first, so I don't know if they even showed up. The second call, the dispatcher sounded like she had the completely wrong address for the first call, and the cops did visit with me. They had checked out the two units next door to the unit above me, but not the unit above me, where the loud music was coming from.
They were also saying, "Oh, but we don't hear anything" and I told them you have to go around the back of the building to hear it. That's what I had to do. I don't think they did that, because after the second visit, the loud music was still going.
A bit miffed that the FBPD is this useless, I called again and told them that FBPD plays a prominent role in my blog. That the blog is about the ghetto-ification of Farmers Branch, and that the cops won't do anything about it.
Frankly, there should be a law that if public services paid for through property taxes fail to do their job, then the taxpayers get reimbursed. In plain English, I'm saying the FBPD should repay their salaries to the taxpayers, since FBPD is little more than a "uniform beauty pageant".
We need real law enforcement, not living manikins to advertise the latest police uniform.
Look, if an ordinary citizen can walk around at night and find the source of loud music, then two cops should be able to do the same. And if it can be heard outside the walls, then it's too loud. Thus, the cops should go up to the offending apartment and either tell the tenant to turn it down or write a citation. Neither was done.
I don't know how much the average cop from FBPD is paid, but even a penny a year is too much for this lot of lazy-bones.

September 7, 2013 -- Now Music
At 10:45 p.m., I finished with my shower and noticed some loud music when I sat down on the bed. This music isn't unpleasant, but it is loud enough for me to hear through the bedroom wall.
It's the type of music that I've heard from the Banging Brood's apartment before. It's not the type that wouldn't appeal to any upstairs neighbors.
I wandered to the other side of the apartment, and the music faded. I looked outside, and there aren't any vehicles near enough, nor is it the type of "boom box" music with a lot of bass.
Now here's the interesting thing. The Banging Brood aren't supposed to have any electronics in their room. At least that's what the officers have stated.
It's now 10:54 p.m., and now the loud music is coming from the apartment on the other side. Those neighbors are generally rather quiet. So I'm rather surprised. Could it really be coming from upstairs? Seems unlikely.
Well, here's hoping that when it's time to sleep, I can drown it out with the box fan.
Addendum: I went outside to explore the source of the music. It's definitely coming from the upstairs apartment. I couldn't hear it coming from either apartment next to me, but I could hear it as I passed mine. And I know I don't have any music playing, so it has to be the upstairs neighbors. I've since called the police to inform them of what I found. And since it's loud enough to be heard outside, maybe the officers will actually do something this time.
Holding my breath? You bet I'm not.
Another Addendum: I just called them again at 11:39 p.m., because the music is still going. It seems the dispatcher entered the wrong apartment number for the source of the noise. So they're sending the officers out here again. FBPD -- Made of fail the American way.

September 7, 2013 -- Banging Brood, has the Truce Ended?
At 4:05 p.m., the Banging Brood began with a few light thumps. This grew both louder and longer until about 4:10 p.m., when it ended.
Now as far as this "truce", what I haven't mentioned yet is that their mother came over on Tuesday evening and offered me a truce. She seemed shifty-eyed and a bit deceitful, especially when she tried excusing the wall punching as "noise from a fan". Funny, I don't recall fans ever learning how to walk on their own, or beat on a wall to retaliate for normal noises I'm making.
Needless to say, it's been rather quiet around here up until a few minutes ago.

September 7, 2013 -- Leash Law Violation
At around 11:30 a.m., one resident allowed a small dog to romp around unfettered on the quad lawn. What's the big deal? We have a leash law in Farmers Branch, and each resident knows this via the lease. But it's not uncommon to see small dogs being allowed to run free.
True, it's sometimes difficult to find a harness small enough to keep a wee dog on a leash, but sometimes those dogs will come right at you for no reason. Now, I'm not exactly afraid of a short, fuzzy mop of a dog, but I'm rather fond of my ankles and don't want them chewed. I also worry that someone like myself, going about normal activities, might inadvertently "draw" an unfettered dog into the path of a moving vehicle.
I think you know what I'm talking about. You're going about your own business. This little dog that doesn't know better decides to follow you. Dog gets run over by moving vehicle in the parking lot. Everyone's sad.

September 6, 2013 -- Who are you trying to Impress?
At 8:17 p.m., I heard a motorcycle skidding its tires and revving its engine right outside my bedroom window. Seriously, is that noise supposed to impress anyone other than the operator? I find it annoying, not impressive.
On the plus side, at least the curfew wasn't violated.

September 4, 2013 -- You Know You're in a Ghetto Apartment Complex when...
... you notice a "Beware of Dog" sign in a window.
Now granted, a "Beware of Dog" sign is pretty common-place. But in an apartment? Most people at London Square have pets of some kind. Dogs are pretty common. It's a safe assumption that there's a four-legged speed bump lurking behind most doors, so there's little reason to warn someone.
Unless you fear criminals and you know the FBPD is pretty much useless as a crime prevention force.

September 3, 2013 -- Banging Brood Strikes Again
Around 9:30 a.m., the Banging Brood (who should all be in school at that time of day and not at home thumping on the walls) were, well, banging and thumping on the walls. And I think I've figured out why.
It's not "play time" as the mother called it. It's retaliation for any sounds I make. How do I know this? Well today, I was minding my own business, trying to pack stuff. Some stuff I'm downsizing and other stuff I'm packing for my eventual move.
I was in the bedroom and living room. And the little banger followed me to bang on their bedroom and living room wall, which I share in common with them.
Fortunately for me, the event happened when the apartment manager could be contacted. So I told her what had transpired and she did make the little demons next door knock it off. Aside from some walking upstairs, it's been pleasantly quiet.
And I'm glad it was dealt with, because I really don't want to call the useless donut patrol, aka FBPD. I'm too tired after walking nearly 5 miles in the blazing hot afternoon sun. My nerves are raw enough, I've had anxiety spells like you wouldn't believe, and I really don't need any nonsense from the next door brat pack.

September 2, 2013 -- London Square, the Dumpground
Okay, you know a place is starting to go downhill when you see empty cigarette packages, beer bottles, cans, and a myriad of other solid waste strewn about the entire property. I don't know why we even have four dumpsters if throwing garbage into the hedges and on the ground is the norm. Maybe one day the trash trucks will be coming here to dump a load instead of to collect it?
Trust FBPD to never be around to enforce anti-litter laws. But wait! They can't enforce what goes on at an apartment complex! Only the manager is in charge of that!
So the cops are saying that if I owned an apartment complex, they couldn't come in and solve a murder that occurred on the property? It would be up to me? Dude! I'm no Sherlock Holmes. And I panic at grizzly real-life horrors.

September 1, 2013 -- Calling Wal-mart, Calling Wal-mart...
... two shopping carts have "taken up residence" on London Square Apartment's property. There's no telling if there's more, since I haven't walked the entire property. And there could be some over at Courtyards too.
I seem to remember shopping cart theft (that's what it's called when you remove a store-owned cart from its lot) is a $500 fine. Ouch. London Square is going to take a big hit.
I can't tell you how many times I've seen "borrowed" Wal-mart shopping carts just pitched into a dumpster here at the complex.
