Now why do I say such a thing? Let's recall the problems I've had with the Farmers Branch Police Department (FBPD) doing anything. They don't enforce the little laws, so what faith should anyone have that they'll catch and punish someone for violent crimes?
The FBPD is little more than empty uniforms. The same goes for the squad car or the police "crow's nest" that you see at the corner Wal-mart. Empty husks with no enforcement. And if there's no one to enforce the laws, then it's up to you and I to do it ourselves.
Our so-called police force is the weakest link. We shouldn't be paying them to fill out a uniform or drive around "seeing nothing wrong" when it's in your face every day.
What monies are earmarked for police should be removed from property taxes. Then property owners/residents that can handle weapons responsibly should be encouraged to get guns and ammo. Defend yourselves, since the government is in decline.
Think about it. Laws are what give local, state, and Federal goverments their authority. But just writing laws isn't enough. It's necessary to have someone to enforce the laws. They have to write the tickets and make arrests. If they fail at these tasks repeatedly, then their jobs should be cut.
The police should be answerable to the people they're supposed to protect.
You know how people fear "Big Brother" watching their every move? Us average people can do likewise to so-called authority figures. We can hold them up to scrutiny and protest their actions or lack thereof.
