I saw this event unfold as I was approaching London Square Apartments from my favorite bus stop. This young man, bare from the waist up, chased down a dark car on foot just outside the complex. The car pulled into the entry for the neighboring complex (an equally run-down and ghetto site).
Given how agitated the young man was, I honestly thought, "Uh oh. Farmers Branch is definitely turning ghetto. Look! A car jacking!"
But given certain details, I think it was more a case of irritation and embarrassment all around. First, the bare-chested male wasn't carrying anything as he chased after the dark (I want to say navy blue) car on foot. After he opened the passenger door and thrust himself in there, I saw him holding a long, cylindrical tube and gesturing with it.
A young woman walked to catch up with the young man. Just as I was approaching the half-way point across Valley View, the whole thing broke up. The young couple walked off, and the car got out of there fairly quickly. Given the way the young man walked, I'd say he was more embarrassed about something, rather than wanting to commit a crime.
All of this happened last night around 9:10 p.m. Even though it's rather dark to get a better look at the car I saw, there's enough security lighting to tell it was roughly navy blue.
