October 13, 2013 -- Theft of Silence by Banging Brood

Yes, I value peace and quiet.  And I don't appreciate it being interrupted.  But it happened yet again.  Numerous times.  So here we go with the time list yet again.

At 11:00 a.m., I heard a bump, a pause, and then a bump-bump (two bumps in rapid succession) from the Banging Brood.  Now, these didn't occur on the shared wall, but I could still hear them.

Then at 11:03 a.m., the "little dears" next door made a loud bang and another bump.

At 11:06 a.m., They made a loud thump, waited a moment, and thumped again.

I heard another softer bump from them at 11:17 a.m.

Then at 11:56 a.m., they decided to show a little more gusto, with two loud bangs in rapid succession.  They waited maybe 30 seconds and made a soft bump.

At 11:58 a.m., 12:17 p.m., and 12:18 p.m., there were a total of four more soft bumps.

Before I left, they made one last thump at 12:39 p.m.

Sorry, but this is still too much noise.

And Mr. Buzz Cut, I understand you "lived in an apartment" too.  Well here's the thing.  I was living in a two bedroom with my former roommate from 2007 until October 2012.  The current apartment I'm in was the one he, the girlfriend he "adopted" and I moved into.

As to it being "normal" to hear noises in apartments, the former apartment didn't have this much racket.  I remember July 2012, there was a week of stomp-a-ramma from the upstairs neighbors, and it stopped when their visitors were done visiting.  Other than that, there was the rare loud music from one of the neighbors, and the other neighbor yelling at his child for how long said toddler was taking using the potty.

That, SIR, is my gauge of "normal apartment noises".

The crap I've endured since July 2, 2013 has been MUCH WORSE than that.  Note that I don't mention much about noises prior to that date.  Know why?  Right around that time was when another family (neighbors) had to move because they had too many people living in a one bedroom.  And those old neighbors had an older man living with them that prowled around the building, both front and back, pacing back and forth all day long.  It felt like a vulture was circling.  And the family in that apartment were also beating the crap out of their pantry, long and hard.

Those former neighbors started their crap about the time my former roommate left to go back to Vermont.  And you wonder WHY I want to protect myself?  Shouldn't it be obvious by now?  Fingerprints on my window aren't enough of a reasonable threat to my person?
