I came home around 7:30 last night, and what I came home to was music, loud music from the Upstairs Stompers' apartment.
Then at 7:53 p.m., the Upstairs Stomper decided to "show me who's boss" by making two very hard ceiling-shaking stomps -- deliberately. I muttered in the kitchen, "I've been cutting you guys some slack because you're moving. If you want in my blog, I can oblige." Though the music was still playing, any other attempts to deliberately aggravate me subsided.
Even so, at 7:56 p.m., the loud music was starting to really get to me. I muttered in the dining room, "I'm about to lose my temper." Moments after saying that, the Upstairs Stomper moved the party to the parking lot, far enough away from my apartment that I could hardly hear the music.
Let me back up a moment about "I'm about to lose my temper." I had reached the point in all the party mood antics going on out there that I was very close to calling the cops.
Also, let me explain "muttering". I wasn't speaking loud enough that anyone should understand what I said. It should have been an indistinct jumble, at best. But the Upstairs Stomper could understand everything, even with the music loud enough for me to hear, to respond as if he were in my apartment with me.
Is there something in the indoor environment at the complex that might be causing hyper-sensitive hearing?
